This was the famous phrase of a man named Tom Doyle who my father used to visit through the Churchtown Senior Citizens. Tom was a porter in The Royal and sadly passed away in the early nineties. This tune was written in my teens in the 1990s but clearly it is heavily influenced by and possibly more of a reworking of the composition “The Tamlin” by Davy Arthur.
