
Johnny of the Grove was a composition from 2007. The lyrics were inspired by old songs of lost and unrequited love. It was recorded on The Crooked Picture album by Reelan in 2008 and sung by Rossagh Cusack.
About Rossagh Cusack
Rossagh Cusack grew up in Kill village surrounded by a musical family. From an early age she sang with local choirs and bands including The Dublin Gospel Choir, Juko and Reelan. She has a huge interest in a wide variety of musical genres including Folk, Irish Traditional and Appalachian music. Rossagh grew up listening to and taking inspiration from Irish singers such as Niamh Parsons, Mary Black, the Ní Dhomhnaill sisters and Mairead Ní Mhaonaigh to name but a few.
Rossagh performed with the band, Reelan, on “The Crooked Picture”, an album of original music by her sister, Sandie. Rossagh supported the well known band, Altan, at the beautiful Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre in 2020 as well as acting as MC and performer at Féile Liam O’Flynn in 2023.
In 2022, Rossagh established ‘Baby Beats‘ and currently runs music workshops for young children & families. She also performs for weddings and drama productions.
