About Muireann Banks
Muireann Banks is an accomplished, Irish banjo player from Dublin, Ireland. Born into a musical family, she began learning traditional music at the age of five from her aunt, Fidelma O’Brien, quickly developing a deep passion for traditional Irish music. Over the years, Muireann has been a founding member of numerous groups and céilí bands and continues to be part of the lively traditional music scene in Dublin. She is a well-travelled musician having lived and played in France, Germany, Switzerland, Toronto, Québec and New York. She is an in-demand performer and tutor in Dublin and at many festivals across Ireland and abroad. Her technical skills and innovative approach to teaching has her in high demand in the traditional music world, sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels.
